Haha. I appreciate that there is a distinction being made between an asshole and a douchebag. Your point is a fair one. That being said, I still don't think I would root for him.

Signing AJ actually makes the most sense to me because 1) I bet he would sign for 2 yrs vs Nap wanting 3-4 yrs...and 2) Having a left handed hitting, offensive minded catcher to switch out with Soto who is a right handed hitting, defensive minded catcher, would be a nice tandem to have.

Just heard that Napoli is about to sign a 3 yr deal with Boston...so there's that.

Laroche played just 43 games in 2011 so i would take the negative WAR with a grain of salt. Although none of his other WAr numbers are that great either, but that just if your looking at WAR. He is pretty good bet to hit 25-35 HR (Taking into account RBiA) and 80-110 rbi along with a 2.70 BA and 3.40-3.60 OBP...thats not bad, it would actually be a pretty good deal if we could get him on a two year deal or maybe even 3 at the right price...he would be better than Micheal Young, and would make Moreland expendable to a trade for Shields.
