Assuming the Rangers don't make the MAJOR investment in Greinke (and I think they have a less that 10% chance of doing so)....is anyone interested in Brandon McCarthy? Before getting plunked in the head last year he was doing reasonably well. He wasn't striking out a lot of people, but he wasn't walking people either. Had a 1.25 WHIP, averaged more than 6 innings per start, .08 HRs / 9 innings.

I know his previous time in Arlington didn't go real well....but when I saw him pitch last year he looked pretty good. Am assuming he could be got for AAV of ~$5M-$7M and 3 years or less (maybe I'm naive in that thinking).

Just wondering if anyone else thinks he's a possibility?
