Looks like the Giants plan on non-tendering him, and if they do I don't see Wilson coming back as he would probably pretty upset about it. If he does though I would like to see the Rangers make a run at him, with them possibly losing both Adams and uehara he could be a good bolster to the pen as out set up man. Especially with Feliz out and Ogando in the rotation to start the season.

I bet his beard dye would melt away in the Texas heat...other than that, I think he stays there.

If they do, they could try to bring him back for a lower salary. I wouldn't be surprised if he took that. The idea of him pitching anywhere else than SF just seems weird.

That said, the Rangers could do worse, although I would expect Nathan to still handle the bulk of the closing duties for us. We need a good setup man, though.

He's even weird by SF standards.

I've read that he would be pretty "upset" if he was non-tendered, and that him and SF aren't seeing eye to eye right now. He could be a very good set up man, and would probably not cost to much either.

I'd be happy to bring him aboard if possible. I'd give him a multiyear deal too.

He could set up this year and regain his stuff, then take over as closer next year when Nathan is gone and stick Feliz in the SU role.

I still think Feliz deserves another shot at the rotation. That's what he was brought up for, and he wasn't doing too badly before his arm gave out.

On a related note, I don't know if I ever said so before, but I have to admire the efforts the Rangers went to to avoid disclosing the full extent of Feliz's injury until after the trade deadline. That can't have been easy in today's fast-paced information world.

Andy,

I would like to see Feliz become a starter as well. IMO I dont think he can for health concerns. But you are right, he looked pretty good in his short audition last year.

It seems his arm is always tweaked or sore and has something keeping him from 100%. Since he has never pitched a big number of innings (127 is his high in the minors), I cant imagine him being able to make it a full season.

Bullpen or starting, I think he can contribute in a big way to the club once he gets healthy.

What's the book on Wilson anyway? Right before his injury he seemed like a guy who barely threw 92-93 and relied on command rather than "stuff." Of course the same could be said for Mike Adams, who I won't necessarily miss next year.

Also, I doubt an old-school guy like Nolan would dig Wilson's shenanigans but who knows what influence he really has over personnel. Ultimately I don't think he leaves SF and if he does it will be for a guaranteed closing job. But if he would accept a setup deal in Texas I'd be cool with it.

We'd get some good vibrations with B. Wilson coming here, although he wants too much dough just to be a setup guy. He probably prefers to go somewhere where he has a chance to close, at least somewhere where they're unsettled at the spot say like DET where they might go with rookie Bruce Rondon. Think he stays in SF where they love him.
