Forum > Niese for Olt?
I suspect Mets would laugh at this.
David
Lets see, a left handed pitcher with a career winning record for player that has done nothing at the MLB level? Mets laugh

The Mets have a franchise 3B already. Now, if Ike Davis is really available, that interests me.
Jondar
@DJones
By that logic, the Mets would also laugh if we included Jurickson Profar in a deal for Niese as well. Niese is not a fantastic pitcher that puts us over the hump.

They traded Carlos Beltran for Wheeler straight up now they're looking good on that trade. Also the Mets broke ass owners are not going to be able to re-sign Wright for what he is worth.

@jared now, you don't think the #1 prospect in baseball is = to Olt do you? I don't. But generally successful starting pitchers don't get traded for just one prospect . Much less a relative cheap starting pitcher that also has a third basemen... I've said this many times , Olt batted around 300 times in AA AND K'd 100 times. Taylor Teagarden lit up AA......
Djones2109
Teagarden lit up high A. He only played like 45 games at AA over 2 seasons.

Im not against trading olt. But why trade him for a guy we already have 2 of (Holland and Harrison)? Doesnt make much sense to me from either perspective really.

Was reading MLBtraderumors chat transcript today. Someone asked about trading Olt to the Mets for Niese. Surprisingly Ben said that this was an intriguing idea, and that the Mets would have to consider this. Do y'all think this is a legitimate opportunity, and this is something we have to do if possible right?
