Forum > His name is Michael Young
Yet another stat that would've made my point. I wanted to keep it very simple though.

Yet again, you are beating a dead horse, no one claimed Michael Young had a good year at all in 2012, you still have not read the thread before you decide to comment.

I'm trying to get a degree though, so if you want to hate him go for it, I don't have time to argue all the time.

Ham, you and I, and you and many others, clearly disagree on this subject. If you are going to say you don't have the time to continually defend yourself, that's fine. But stay consistent. You have posted on this topic far more than anyone else.

You got me there, touché.

I read the thread and what I'm telling you that you seem to fail to grasp is MY didn't have a bad year in 2012. He had an absolutely atrocious year where he was the second worse player in baseball and that his "leadership" (however overblown it may be) is not enough to justify keeping him in the lineup on a regular basis moving forward.

^^^ He is right. End of story. Thread closed.

You can like Michael Young without wanting him to be an everyday player.

Such a LAME & Over-Sung topic.
I hear Mini Ripperton or Adele singing,
everytime talk of MY comes to the sur-FACE.
Finger to temple-cocked thumb (as Archie Bunker emotes)...
OMG, Just shoot me now, Pa-LeeeeZ!

How is this thread still going?

You should have also added slugging percentage to your numbers. MY has little to no power left in his swing. Unless he was playing injured, MY could have been replaced by any of the Rangers AAA players and the team would have improved. He was that bad when measured by almost any metric. More importantly, when someone on your team is not being held accountable for poor production, the rest of the team starts to notice.
