@ LEMon Chill

You'd have to fill that "????" with the likes of Marisnick, Syndergaard, and throw in Jose Bautista to make me want to make that trade.

This is not an ignorant post at all, this is a question the Rangers front office may be asking themselves right now, but all this Elvis being traded talk right now is just a rumor. In all reality, I see Elvis as being the opening day shortstop for the Texas Rangers this upcoming season and I see Profar starting the season at AAA. There is nothing wrong with that scenario. Next season is when the Rangers may think more about trading Andrus, and then I believe the front office will have to look at all scenarios, but trading Andrus for prospects is not a dumb idea. Price and Upton may not even be available, this is all PURE speculation from different websites and publications.

@ Notorious Nice! I knew I should have replaced Holland with FACE.

I guess I'm thinking: A rotation with Grienke/Darvish/Harrison/Ogando/(Perez) is pretty solid even without Holland, and Elvis is a 2-yr rental. D'Arnaud + RP + Marisnick/Syndergaard potentially reloads the team for the near future and deepens the bullpen and allows the Rangers to pursue a power bat DH on a shorter-term contract via free-agency or trade. I've got Posey envy -- I love Elvis & Holland, but want a good young catcher!

@LEMon Chill

I'm with you on the young catcher. Nothing like having something that 90% of the league doesn't have!

D'Arnaud would definitely be appealing as well and the Jays might be willing to discuss an Andrus trade involving him but my hesitation would be that I'd imagine they would be looking for pitching over position players which is not our strength. While we have good depth, little of it seems like the kind of top end talent that the Jays would be looking for if they were to part with the top catching prospect in baseball. That said, the more teams that are interested in Andrus, the better our chances of getting a solid package for him (whether it be something built around D'Arnaud or another set of prospects such as the Stl. proposal in the initial post). I also agree with the posts reminding us that in the end this is all just conjecture. While I think it makes more sense to trade him this offseason than wait until the trade deadline or next winter (or just holding on to him until his contract expires) if they can't get the kind of package they're looking for they certainly shouldn't settle as they do still have a great deal of time left to make a deal.
