Forum > What J.Bone wants

So according to reports and the ticket, Hamilton is looking for a contract that starts out at 7 years and 175 million. Is that too much to pay for a superstar OF, who is 31 has a long injury past and has attitude problems?? Do we (the rangers brain trust) want him back at that price tag??

1) Yes that is too much
2) No, we don't want him back for more than 5 years
3) When did he get the nickname 'J.Bone'?

This isn't out of line with what I'd expect early reports to say about a Hamilton contract, but in this case I think we'll actually see something significantly less - maybe 5 years at $22M AAV

I assume that's from Josh Hambone.

I thought that was his asking price, not his deal floor. And I don't think he'll get that. C.J. didn't get $120m/6, either.

Josh is gone. Long, long gone. Get used to it folks. The scary thing is, some delirious owner will step up and give him 7 years. Apparently, Josh had to be talked into playing...during a contract year. Good luck!

Peace

The longer I think about it, the less I'm comfortable doing anything with Josh beyond one year at a time. Obviously that isn't realistic, but I don't think any realistic deal to bring him back is out there. I wish him the best, but it's time to move on.

Josh is gone.

Ortiz is no longer an option.

Upton is looking more and more likely.
