They knew it would get under your skin and make you question and criticize the move, only reason they did it..you heard it here first.

The 3rd base coach is the more important position, mostly since he controls the more valuable runners and dictates what all the runners do when there are multiple runners on base. Since the running game struggled last season, and Pettis is in charge of it, I guess they decided to give him more control.
That being said, Dave Anderson did just fine last year in my opinion. It seemed like usually the runner, if thrown out, ran through a stop sign, unless it was Josh. He apparently left his brain at home plate a couple of times and barked at whichever coach he was closest to. Personally, I don't think it amounts to much, other than to shake things up some. They are both excellent at what they do.

I get the hitting coach change. The guys were terrible at situational hitting (Whether you like the move or not, something needed to happen because coolbaugh didnt get his message across).
But the base coach change doesnt really do anything for me. What does that accomplish? Wash seems to be saying he wanted pettis on third because of his baserunning instincts. But our baserunning from first was just as bad, if not worse, as the baserunning from second and third.
