Baseball Prospectus has a feature today rebutting a Bruce Jenkins/SF Chronicle article describing the Giants' system as the antithesis of Moneyball. BP describes how the Giants were among the first to bring Silicon Valley technology to MLB and its fans. It describes three new tracking systems: one tracks and measures the speed, spin, and arc of the pitch, another the batted ball, and a third measures the relationship of the pitch's outcome to the catcher's target. A single game generates more than a terabyte of data.
