Kuroda is an interesting idea.
He was very productive for the Yankees in 2012, both in the regular and postseason. (In the playoffs he had two starts, pitching very effectively into the 8th in one and into the 9th in the other.) His WHIP, K rate, K/BB were all very good. He pitched around 200 IP and over 30 starts for the 3rd year in a row.
For those who ascribe to such things, he provided 5.2 wins vs replacement, and it only cost $10M for the season.
At the right price, he'd make tons of sense as a nice replacement for Colby on a 2-yr pact. But he's an arbitration-eligible, so he might not get to free agency.
David
I believe he's eligible for free agency and we had an interest last year
I admittedly know nothing about Kuroda's style and don't know how his numbers would translate to the ballpark. And I don't feel like looking right now.

Darvish brings enough Japanese people to the ballpark

Why West txRangerSan bring his racist attitude here?

Read something that actually says he's looking for a one year deal. I'd be very interested in that.
Kuroda succeeded in the AL East in the NYY bandbox. He's not a front of the rotation ace but he can definitely be a good #3 or #4. I'd be happy to give him 12+ for next year and have a little bit more depth.

If you can sign Zack Greinke or trade for David Price or James Shields. Kuroda might be a great guy to take the 5th spot in the Rangers rotation.

I like the idea of having 11 starters

You'd have to be crazy NOT to take Kuroda on a 1 yr deal. He's been pretty damn dependable most of his career and doesn't seem to be bothered by big games or big moments. The Rangers need consistency in the rotation...Kuroda will give you that.
JV
I think we should hurry. Teams will be lined up to take a 37 yr old with a .500 record.

did you just point to his record.....as if it means anything....

'did you just point to his record.....as if it means anything'
It does to some of us nerd. Keep your pithy comments to yourself.

I think it was meant to be funny Oshi. Sarcasm doesn't translate well.

Rumored to be wanting a short deal. If we could get him for two years I think I'm very interested.
