Forum > Should the Rangers have any Interest in R.A. Dickey?
Seems fine in principle, but he has a club option for like $5m, and it seems like a no-brainer the Mets will pick it up. But sure, I'd love it. Who wouldn't?

Don't give up any lefties...
But, I'd love to bring R.A. home... back where he started... were he was drafted... Country Rooooad...

What are Knuckleballers notorious for...giving up home runs. What is RBiA notorious for...giving up home runs. I would love to see RA back, but i don;t think he would to well in Texas and wouldn't want to see him throw away the rest of his career by coming here.

Dickey just had abdominal surgery....his window is closing, he would't be worth any prospects but to pick him up for small money alone, then I would grab him.
T.O.
He's in the right ballpark to continue succeeding. Hopefully he can string one or two or three more good seasons before checking out and riding into the sunset. He's made a nice little career for himself.
I don't think RBiA is the right place for him.

His home/road splits are essentially the same. He's hard to figure because there's no comparable to what he's become. He could win the CY Young next year or get pushed to the bullpen. At the cost of his option, the Mets would only move him for a nice haul and his variance is quite large to give up good value for.

No funeral.

The subject says it all.
A few reason for this:
It seems that knuckle-ball pitchers age well so I am less concerned about his age
Watching someone throw a 58 mph knuckle ball to a team the day after facing Yu Darvish might be fun.
He might be more affordable than other inning eaters.
If the Rangers use Holland or Harrison in a trade they may need a mid rotation guy
