I don't think this excludes the Diamondbacks from dealing Justin Upton. It kind of makes me think Kirk Gibson had problems with multiple players, not only Upton, because they basically gave away Chris Young for an ineffective reliever.

Looks like it's set up perfectly. Along with Andrus, Rangers will include David Murphy in the deal.

I have to agree with OP looks like Arizona will roll with Eaton/Parra/Upton in 2013. Kubel is likely available if the Rangers need a DH although he hit an alarming 201/275/470 in the 2nd half this year.

Upton is 25 is under team control for 3 more years, coming off a down year, and is not even in the prime of his career yet. Hunter is 38 and 2012 was the best year (war-wise) of his career. So you're right, lets give a 2 year 25 million dollar deal to an aging vet who is guaranteed not to produce the same results he did last year over the 25 year old not in his prime yet.
