Forum > Josh Should Make Things Right
WWAD? [what would allah do?]
Muhahmed
Sometimes these forums drive me nuts. I read the original post and then try to follow the conversation and then all of sudden I realize I reading something about Fox News and my brain just goes WTF...
Anyway... Josh make things right? Yeah right. You my friend may believe that he was giving 100% at the end, I do not. No one. NO ONE who is giving 100% says they can't take a walk because that's not what the fans pay to see. I'm sorry Mr. Hamilton, BUT I PAY TO WATCH THE RANGERS WIN (or at least try. not lay down and die swinging at pitches my six year old could lay off of). And it is a little pathetic that he thinks the fans are spending their money to watch his 'amazingness' more so than to watch the team succeed as a whole.
I truly believe that when he made the decision to quit smokeless tobacco in the middle of the season was when he knew 100% he wasn't committed to this team. And slowly but surely from that point he started to check out more and more. Removing himself from a game leaving a road trip because he drank too much caffeine (I have friends that drink coffee around the fucking clock and not a damn one of them have stopped being able to do their damn jobs because their eyeballs stopped working). Then the drop followed by the hehe @Wash in the dugout finally culminating with the horrible, wretched, wish they A-Rod'd his ass to the bench performance last Friday.
So no I don't think Josh makes any attempt to make anything right with anyone affiliated with the Rangers. The front office, his teammates, especially not the fans. Regarding the quote or his performance or even a 'hey sorry team for fucking you over after you had my back for 5 years' After all remember: He doesn't owe the Rangers anything.

I like it when Scooby gets fired up. Keystone nailed it...Joe played Chucky from Sons Of Anarchy "I can accept that"

It saddens me that some here are too ignorant to recognize the real significance of my comment.

Nothing about your comment was significant. Just petty.

Eric,
I'm sorry that you cannot read obvious context clues that show the way I meant the word significant.
Something petty can be significant in the context I used it. It simply means that some meaning is being conveyed whether it be petty or profound.
In your retort you used the word as it is meant in the second sense, which means something is important.
As far as my retort to Scooby's weird angst I don't call it noble or petty. I was simply commenting on the fact that in the process of upbraiding me for making moral proclamations he was making a moral proclamation.
Regardless of any of this it is interesting to me that you feel the need to locate yourself above the fray while you continue to involve yourself below it.

Is Eric a troll?
All of Us
Just not good, correct, nor smart, to compare how oneself is received as compared to how the Gospel is received. If he understood how the words were used he would not have said what he said.

Joe, I had no idea Josh has heart trouble. I thought his chakra and bones were disturbed to the point of needing state of the art podiatry.
Baseball is full of men behaving badly: Marquard, Ruth, Cobb, mantle, gooden, etc. Josh earned his money and owes me nothing. He has the right to his honest interpretation of the scriptures so long as he doesn't use his beliefs to castigate others. Like gay bashing.
Baseball is less tolerant of homosexuality than many other sports. Between the high school kids going straight to the minors to DR and other Latin American players growing up in strict Catholic societies, players are less tolerant. Witness the Ranger propensity to laugh it up with drag queen costumes while not at a Halloween party.
Most of us probably live in large cities, have gay fellow employees, been to college, and otherwise do not have any good reason to devolve into gay bashing or any other ugly intolerance. Some day the prejudiced may be fortunate to learn their prejudice is only hurting themselves. Until that time I suggest if you are so inclined to cast aspersions on others, take a breath and keep it to yourself.

Joe,
You have no right to ask for anything from anybody. All you can control in this world is your own mind, and what you choose to do with it. There is no god, no higher force Josh is contending with, and you have no place operating as the deciding voice, not here, or for humanity as a whole.
I'm not telling you how to live your life, though I'm sure there will be plenty of troll and non-troll hatred for my own beliefs of the world. But they are mine, no one else's. I'm not making any moral attacks on anyone who disagrees with my ideologies, because that's a choice everyone decides on, and it's not my place.
But for you to come on here and declare that Josh Hamilton -- the same Josh Hamilton that's going to be given a 9-figure contract this offseason -- owes you an apology, is beyond stupid, beyond ridiculous, beyond every other usage of hyperbole I could conjure up through my fingers into this keyboard I'm currently typing on.
If it saddens you that people are too ignorant to understand your idiocy, then it saddens me that you find your thoughts important enough that they deserve any kind of reaction whatsoever. If you never post on this site again no one is going to lose any sleep over it.

Pot-Kettle-Black Eric??? Calm down Eric. So you are castigaying him for the VERY thing you are now doing??

castigaTing--honest mistake I swear

Eric,
This is going to be fun, but know that I am, at least as much as I am doing it out of good fun, doing it so that you will see how wrong you are. I recognize that possibility to be low, but not completely outside of the realm of potential.
"You have no right to ask for anything from anybody."
Aren't you asking that I stop asking anything from anybody. If you aren't asking you are at least saying that I don't have that right.
"There is no god, no higher force Josh is contending with, and you have no place operating as the deciding voice, not here, or for humanity as a whole."
Weren't you raising yourself up as the "deciding voice" when you proclaimed that I "have no right to ask for anything."
"I'm not making any moral attacks on anyone who disagrees with my ideologies, because that's a choice everyone decides on, and it's not my place."
Any idiot can see that you are attacking me here. You attacked me for asking something of Josh. Da.
"But for you to come on here and declare that Josh Hamilton -- the same Josh Hamilton that's going to be given a 9-figure contract this offseason..."
He is going to get paid and that somehow disqualifies him from having to apologize when he is wrong?Everyone needs to apologize when they are wrong, Eric, even you. Also, I didn't call on Josh to apologize to me personally, I think he should apologize to Rangers fans in general for his use of Scripture.
"it saddens me that you find your thoughts important enough that they deserve any kind of reaction whatsoever."
I don't think most post here because they think they deserve a reaction, and neither do I.
"If you never post on this site again no one is going to lose any sleep over it."
I just did post here again. Hopefully you don't lose any sleep over it Sir. I say that because you seem very amped-up and angsty over all of this. I think that is because deep down you know how wrong you are.
Sincerely,
Joe Bob
Joe
Eric's not gonna like that.

still wondering WHY and WHAT FOR... guess i have misunderstood FAN for last 58 years.. all they OWE me is... mmm... not a durn thing... the players MAY owe something to the owners and teammates but not to me or you... if i don't enjoy watching the players i simply do not watch... do you think every entertainer OWES you a perfect performance every time out? just don't understand how fans think they are owed anything..
JUST JON
The players owe the fans because the fans support the game. They owe an honest performance, which to means they play as hard and as well they can. It means they don't throw games or malinger.
They do not owe a single hit, run or RBI. No apologies are expected if their WAR does not support their salary. Same for cheating on their wives; that us between the player and wife.
God or godless, beer, whiskey, or water , are the player's choice.
As fans we deserve baseball. Personal conduct and the like is between the player, club, MLB, and the union. I may not like a player's actions or choices, but so long as I am not the victim of these actions, I deserve no apologies. Separate the art from the artists, the two often are of entirely different qualities n

Wow Joe, you really slammed Eric and showed you are the man. You're right, that WAS fun.
Please take your nonsense somewhere else. Religion really doesnt need to be part of this baseball forum, does it?
Adam
primi the fans do not pay the players. the owners do.. the owners recieve payment from the fans hence the owners may owe an apology to the fans
JUST JON
Eric is the new Ricky. Good thing Joey lets him moderate the chats...

Good luck convincing him of that. Its not his fault, its just the way Christianity affects people. It doesn't teach you that other religions (or no religion) are okay, it doesn't teach you to leave alone those that don't want to hear the "message", and it doesn't teach you that there are some situations where Jesus talk is not needed. In fact, I'm 99% sure that it teaches the exact opposite of those things. Thats why he will never want to stop.
I don't have a problem with it, because Joe can be so entertaining.
Keystone Heavy
Joe is right. Josh was wrong. That was hugely insulting to the very accommodating and understanding community of believers that stand up for Hamilton. When I read that quote on Twitter that was the moment my picture of him changed to an immature, self righteous, poorly taught, and overall poor role model that I don't want my kids looking up to anymore. Those that don't study and meditate on the words of Christ can't really be expected to understand that. I would definitely accept his apology because one needs to be made.
Codeman
You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?
Andy
At least Jesus would try to take a walk...on water maybe.
Codeman

They know exactly what they are doing, and the make a hell of a lot of money off misguided people. All mainstream news does that. They have a slant and milk it for all its worth.
