I'd rather have Clint Hurdle managing... that way, he could drop an occasional hit to the hitting coach... lol

I have to confess that I am confused about the duties and responsibilities of a hitting coach are at the major league level. I've read some on the subject and I hear occasionally from our resident apologist TAG, that hitters by nature don't want to be coached unless they initiate a request for assistance. So, here is my take on a hitting coach. He is the person who gets fired FIRST if the offense is lame for any period of time that management deems 'long enough.'
