What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Bitching about the TV guys is the worst kind of inefficiency when we've got the best PBP man outside of Vin Scully on the radio in Eric Nadel. If you're not muting your TV and going with the radio feed for your audio, you're missing a great game.
Exactly. This whole conversation is moot. You guys just need to get a radio. Your enjoyment of the game will go up 100%. On that topic, I am kind of enjoying Matt Hicks/Nadel combo. Maybe Buzz should stay on TV...
Just thought I'd google Busby never shutting up and came upon this. My God, that dude can't have any dead air! Not 15 seconds per inning! I'd love for him to just go away so that the fans can enjoy the sounds of the game with a little play by play without every darn thing that that Busby can think of to flap his gums. STFU, already!
Too much of a lag by putting the game on TV and listening on the radio. More annoying than Heckle and Jeckle in the booth.
I miss cookie talk!
If you compare Busby with a number of other broadcasters, including his predecessor Barnett, you'll notice he's still announcing like he's on the radio. Frankly, I like it most of the time, because I can still follow if I have to multitask, diverting my attention momentarily. He's not in the same league as Nadel, obviously, though. Tom gets on my nerves a lot more often.
"Well, that's a borderline pitch, could go either way.""Yeah, he just left that breaking ball up a little too much.""He just ran out of room to get to that ball."
No shit, Tom. We saw it. Thanks for rubbing salt in the wound whenever something bad happens. Tom ain't going nowhere, though. Actually I do kinda miss cookie talk too, although it annoyed me when Tom would do it in a tense situation instead of waiting until the game calmed down a little.
"Bases loaded with no outs, Trout steps in.""Buzz, we'd also like to think Dorothy in Midlothian for her famous kettle corn..."
Waaaaaaaagggghhhhh. Go change your panties
Ditto's..Busby never S'sTFU and Grieve's "that was almost a basehit" is nauseating
Busby does a good job-listen to some other teams anouncers.
MIchelle---I have DirecTV and the feed is about 2 seconds behind the radio. It's a little disconcerting to hear what happened before you see it.I used to do that radio thing for all the years with Cowboys football.Glad you took a break from your housework to share :-)
Josh Lewin was the best
Grieve is much better when he's led into a topic the way Lewin was wont to do... Not sure but Barnett and Grieve didn't mix well - I think Barnett wanted more help and TaG wanted more leadership in the boot from his PbP guy.
Heh... Rhads was great - as a sideline / studio guy... MUCH better than Knoxie (although Knox hasn't been as obtrusive while play has gone on as in past years).
I don't mind Buzz's analysis (although, technically, that's Tom's job), but I do mind a ball in the dirt being called inside and a ball inside being called outside and a "...DEEP FLY BALL TO LEFT..." not being recognized off the bat as ... just a long fly ball into the fielder's glove. It's almost like he's not really watching the game but grabs sudden, intense interest as the ball meets bat and ... well... it MIGHT do something special...
Busby knows the game but makes a lot of identification mistakes, like calling Kinsler at the plate when he even knows he is on second after a single and error and Beltre is up in last nites's game This happens nearly every game. Josh was the best, entertaining, worked well with Tag, and he was always aware of what was going on before him. Someone higher up seems to not have wanted him around for what ever reason.
Nolan ran Josh off-it was in all the papers. Again your baseball 'guy'.
Ryan didn't run off Lewin. The production couldn't stand working with Lewin. Ryan didn't make that decision. Check your facts, just ask anybody with the production or with the Rangers.
Nolan told me it was him.
DEB: I understand that being a housewife you don't understand a lot of this. Rest assured the "production" would be gone not the on air personality. Now fix me a sandwich.
Imagine there's no that JD It is hard to doNothing to appreciate or blame forAnd no politics too Imagine all the peopleEnjoying baseball in peace
P.S. You should apologize the lady.
Every one of you dipshits is wrong. Josh tried to combine his Ranger gig with a weekend Fox gig. Lewin was unable to fulfill his Ranger commitment to the exent the Ranger brass required. They had no use for the lack of loyalty.
And Nolan got his panties in a wad.
Let's be honest here-all Nolan has is an office.
