How much blame should he take for the hitting approach this year, which was pathetic to say the least?

I was wondering the same thing. Did a lot of the team regress or was it his approach?

players suck, coaches get fired

The entire team dropped off in several offensive categories by more than two full standard deviations from April/May to June/July, and they collapsed again after a rebound in August. The probability that one can attribute that swing to random variation alone is less than 3%. Crazier things have happened, but it's extremely rare for an entire team (save David Murphy and occasional others) to go cold all at once for such prolonged periods. What I saw is that several players failed to make adjustments at the plate over the course of the year. That falls either on the players for being stubborn or on the coaches for being too soft. I wasn't in the clubhouse, so I don't have enough information to attribute that either way. If Kinsler and Napoli both stay with the Rangers, I wouldn't mind seeing a new hitting coach brought in to try to get through to them.

He probably won't be coming back, but you know, this team has had tendencies in not scoring runs when it mattered most for the past few years.

I think we need to move a few of the bad-approach hitters out of the organization.

Kinsler is one person who comes to mind.
