Would make a nice DH next year, with the ability to get some time in the outfield as a 5th OF. Could production over what we got from Young at DH would close the gap in what is being lost by Hamilton. Looks like 2 years at $7million a year remain. He's a little older, so that's a bit of a risk. I wonder what it would cost trade wise to get him from Minnesota?

Said before this was good guy in to have in Texas for DH role. Guy kills it here in Texas. But....I doubt its a move that is made....would have made more sense to do it this year before trade deadline.

I'd love to have him here. Any questions about the third spot in the order would disappear almost instantly. He actually hits righties better than lefties, so he won't really make the lineup too righty-heavy. Not that I would trade Kinsler straight-up for him, but Minnesota does have a gaping hole at second base...

David Ortiz at DH.

I'd rather have a DH who could play the outfield and give Nelly half-days off than one who would eat into Moreland/Olt's playing time.

Lukewarm on Ortiz. Maybe it's just shellshock after the 2012 MY experience where I am nervous about a full-time DH going forward. Would prefer to keep that spot open for Olt, Murphy, Cruz, Napoli, whoever.
