Forum > The not-so-Silver Lining: 2012 Rangers = 1996-? Dallas Cowboys
In the 'silver lining' entry one comment that bothers me is that 'at least the Angels didn't make it this year, and they won't next year either.' I wouldn't be so sure about the Angels not making the post-season next year. Obviously it's trivial because the season is 162 games, but remove the first month from the schedule this year and this is what you get: 1) OAK 82 wins 2) LAA 80 wins 3) TEX 76 wins 4) SEA 64 wins
Both Oakland and the Angels outperformed us for 5/6 of the season, and it wasn't even close.
I've spent a lot of my time uncomfortable about this team this year, and had to read BBTIA everyday to get Joey's silver linings about how it was going to be okay, in order to make myself feel better. This has been an inconsistent team all year, and a few hot streaks kept us in the running through a lot of mediocre ball. Underperforming, lack of discipline and inconsistency plagued this team, and we're seeing the result. I hope JD can fix it.
I recommend building a wall between the Ballpark and Cowboy's Stadium to keep the plague out.
