Terry Francona and Ron Washington are the same kind of manager. Be careful what you for.

But Francona lets you eat chicken & drink beer during the game.

(1) A manager willing to sit veterans on their ass or drop them in the lineup if their continued performance or attitude so dictates and willing give young players a chance to develop into young productive players without the fear that they'll sit for six weeks if they go 0-3 or miss a hit and run sign (which results in stunting their deveopment).

PLEASE tell me why we would put KINS in LF. His numbers would suck for a corner outfielder.

I'm driving the Shields bandwagon, you can ride shotgun. His numbers after the TDL (when the Rangers were reportedly interested) were incredible: 90 IP, 14 BB, 89 K, 1.99 ERA. His K/BB and K/9 for the season were actually better than Price. With how desperate Tampa is for hitting and how loaded their rotation is, I really think there's a deal to be made there.

I do like BJ Upton as a possible Hamilton replacement. His numbers weren't stellar this year but there have been guys who have left Tampa and seen a boost in their batting stats, most recently John Jaso.

@BF - Kinsler might not be ideal as a corner outfielder but his numbers are not all that different from the corner outfielders we have now. Not as much power as Cruz but arguably at least on par with Murphy. I don't think he has the arm for RF, or I'd suggest Kins in RF and Cruz as DH. And I'd really like to see what a middle infield of Andrus/Profar can do.

What do you suggest? Or do you just come on here to shoot down other people's thoughts without offering one of your own?

I'd want a lot more for Ian. I'm not crazy about trading him, but I'd want someone we could use immediately. We have a ton of great prospects.

Both Uptons could work.

Greinke and either Shields or Price. Justin Upton, CarGo, or Stanton. Yeah, big wishes but Santa is magic.
