Forum > Silver lining thread

What are you guys saying? Rooting for the Rangers to lose? Get. Out. Of. Here.

Three silver linings for this game against Baltimore:

1. We're at home.
2. Our best pitcher is on the hill.
3. Baltimore has never seen our best pitcher.

If you want to dig deeper, you can see Joe Saunders has career-wise been terrible in Arlington, and possesses a low K rate and high fly ball percentage -- two factors not conducive to success in Texas.

No need to start talking about next year. At least not until tomorrow night.

I understand (to a point) why some would want the Rangers to lose the play-in game against Baltimore. I mean I get the logic. Having said that, there is always the potential for a couple of Rangers hitters to pull it together and we get a few decent starts from pitchers. Plus, the underdog role might actually loosen this team up.

Think about the other teams that would dream of getting the chance to get into the playoffs. My beloved Pirates, for example, have gone decades without sniffing the playoffs or even a winning record.

I just can't imagine cheering for the Rangers to lose this game. It seems bizarre to be honest.

I will make a 2013 prediction:

JD will either replace Wash or find a new home (which might end up being his actual home, once he is cut) for Michael Young.

Our FO is way too smart to let Wash pull another season of this baseball heresy.

The problem with firing Washington is the rangers probably lose the pitching coach as well

Mike Maddox is the best thing to happen to the Rangers in a long, long time.

I'll put up with some of Washington's miscues to keep the pitchers developing
