Forum > Most Popouts Ever?

Is it just me or does Kinsler pop out just about twice every game? Most of the time it is on the first pitch which makes it even worse because he doesn't make the pitcher work at all.

Im just happy if he runs them out

He was really good at the start of the year. He leveled out his swing and didn't pop nearly as often. Now it seems like he's back to where he was last year, except he's not hitting as many home runs. In fact, he's not hitting anything right now.

The baseball gods are fickle. Being a baseball fan can be so frustrating.

That uppercut swing. You live and die by it. I don't want him to change it because that could possibly kill his hitting altogether. Kinsler will figure it out and start hitting some more bombs.

August is here. The Ranger offensive engine is about to finally kick into drive instead of neutral. Now just bring up Olt and bench Face for the added NOS boost and watch out baseball world.

IMO is not just Kins upper cut swing, he also rocks back a really rarely hits the ball in the middle, he is either hitting a skyer or a slow grounder...really frustrating!!!!! I don't know it will take but multiple players need to at least get back to hitting .300 from now on!!!! Go Rangers

While the pop-ups are frustrating in and of themselves, what kills me is when he pops up on the first pitch. I've always thought that we need to work the pitch count more, and Kinsler needs to especially given that he's the leadoff hitter. His job is to see as many pitches as possible and allow his teammates to figure out the opposing pitcher as soon as possible.

That upper cut swing shouldn't be in the lead off spot. Shouldn't a lead off hitter get on with solid line drive hits, running out ground balls, using the whole field, just grinding to reach base. I mean when was the last time you saw kinsler slap one the other way? It's always these upper cut all or nothing type swings to left. It's like we have 5th hitter leading off. I think Elvis or gentry would be much more qualified, but wash is just too stubborn to try something different for a while. I don't get it.

Totally agree Michael M. Higher pitch counts are how you get into that horrible bullpen the Angels are toting. Higher pitch counts make the pitcher tired. Genius, I know, but I definitely do not see us doing that as well as we could be. However, I will say that lately our pitch counts were better than what we were doing in June.

Ugh, Kinsler. I cannot escape your wrath of disappointment. Every time I think I'm out, you pull me back in. Damn you and your lazy pop flies for you are making more money than you deserve.
