The Rangers are the New Orleans Saints of Baseball. There is some sort of invisible force that wants them to lose, or at the very least make it difficult for them to win.

Bellino's strike zone does look a little lopsided. There were five Ranger pitches that Bellino called balls there were definitely in the strike zone opposed to only one missed strike going against the Rays. Something that's interesting is that Bellino works with the same crew as Layne.

I didn't think it was too lopsided. The Rangers' hitters put themselves in bad situations by taking too many strikes and getting into 2 strike counts against a really good pitcher. Can't blame this loss on the umpire.

i agree with brian k. takin' WAY too many strikes in the last week or two. if the whole lineup jumped on those first pitch strikes more often we would Fenway-the-hell-out-of every team we played, every game...?

Jerry Layne's a f***ing hack. He hates the Rangers. Clear and simple. The split between when he calls Rangers games vs, when he calls Cardinals game is to large to ignore.
