What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Rangers sign Joe Nathan!!! NEFTI TO THE BULLPEN! :)
Did you mean rotation?
Haha yeah I meant rotation.
Time for more body language. Hopefully in a good way.
2 years, $14 mil with an option for '14. Doesn't cost us any draft picks because he wasn't considered a Type A or B. Was sidelined for a month last year with a torn flexor muscle. Not sure if it was smart to go with a guaranteed 2nd-year instead of a team option for '13.
I'm not sure if this Fangraphs article on the Joe Nathan signing has been posted on here yet. Here it is:
The article is mostly skeptical. As am I. Seems like a lot to gamble on an old closer, when you have Mike Adams.
I am right there with you, RFan.
And I assume most of you guys see why I rarely visit this site anymore, after today's silliness. Good luck and God bless, guys. And a happy Thanksgiving as well. I will visit from time to time, but when a total non-contributor high-jacks the site and abuses me? I am out. We should be able to police ourselves. Maybe even delete those who offend. I just find it sad that a man has no better thing to do than harrass constructive discussions. Very sad. I'll see you guys. Take care and have a happy holidays.
Very, very sad... Good bye all.
I'm a 20 year Ranger fan and I know since I'm 32 I should've been a fan since the Senators and gone back in the annals another some odd years to make myself worthy of all of you, but this is just disgusting.
Ricky in Ft. Worth is a hot head. He belittles others opinions, but he also knows a lot and this is an INTERNET FORUM. You are ALWAYS going to have Ricky in Ft. Worth. At least he is not a dumbass.
Honestly, I get more valuable information from angelswin.com which I have posted on ONE TIME during the playoffs last year than I do here. They are really put together over there. You guys here act like a bunch of high school girls. They argue over there but they argue about players and front office (thank God you have 1 of those 2 to not worry about), they don't argue about who has the most "knowledge". Yes, Ricky in Ft. Worth thinks he has the most knowledge, ok. As LeBron says, we still all have to go to our jobs in the morning and these players have amazing lives.
What good does it do to lay our proverbial phallus out on the table each day against each other when this is supposed to be a baseball forum? I actually think Ricky's observation that our minor leaguers put on the roster are going to play a much bigger factor than anyone realizes as a poignant point! So, does that make me a jackass too?
SHOULD IT MAKE JOEY SHUT DOWN THE FORUM? GROW UP!
IT IS THE INTERNET. You'd be better off to ignore the (I think) relatively infrequent Ricky in Ft. Worth bedlam insult belittlings when he does try to rip an ass open, recognize when he does give credit (which I don't know if you guys notice but he does quite often), and let's just talk about the Rangers.
That being said, I'd Rather Ricky ignore the dumb ideas being posted, but we are a relatively new baseball town and sometimes it can't be resisted by a big ego. Whether he played at a high level meaning he was an SS in highschool or whether he was scouted by low-A guy drinking beer at a college exhibition, I think we can all agree he isn't an idiot.
I just wish one day we have a forum like the Angels do. And I HATE the Angels.
Ricky in Fort Worth is actually good for the website. You always know what you're going to get with the guy, and more times than not it's right on and a good read. If you get your feelings hurt from a blog which youll never see the dude in your life then go find somewhere else to be a softy.
I concur with Brandon, and I am the "hot head". I have admitted and have attempted to be otherwise. When insults fly from ignorance, I have little patience. Tack on the moronic, non-contributing heckling? And I blow a gasket. It has been a far better situation for me to remove myself from the idiocy over the past couple weeks. I can stay here and contribute, or I can do without it. I have plenty of folks I talk baseball with daily. People who are in the business or press. I don't need a hobby where I get kicked in the nuts daily. Take it or leave it. If it persists? I will leave it.
Thank you, Taylor. Thanks very much.
Ricky, you can be a bit overtop once in a while, but you are a major contributor, DO NOT QUIT CONTRIBUTING. On the most part I have appreciated your contibutions.
