What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Hey, guys. I'm as intrigued/mystified by the man known as Yu Darvish as anyone else, and so I sent a few questions about him to Patrick Newman of NPBtracker.com. Together, we came up with a nice guide about what exactly he brings to the table.Enjoy. http://www.wfaa.com/sports/Rangers-offseason-targets-Yu-Darvish-133688493.html
Thanks, Or. Good stuff as always.
Nice summary. Good read. 7 pitches?!?
I watched him throw 3 perfect innings in the game someone dropped in another thread. He definitely dominated. He induced a number of ground balls, some of which were pretty weakly hit, and all of which were outs. The only fair ball in the air was a can of corn to center. Plenty of beautiful strikes. I forget how many strikeouts there were, but at least 3, and at least 1 called.
But will he post? And if so, will his domination transfer? It should be interesting to find out.
Andy - It would be at his team's best interest to post him this year, with the lack of FA pitching. I know you know that. They will get their best post fee now, versus next year. Darvish is a good club house guy, with a great personality. He will translate in more ways than one.
I heard this is the last year the team can post him. Is that true? I mean if it is, why the hell wouldn't they post him?? I can understand Darvish thinking of waiting a year if he's a free agent next year, bc we all know he'll get an easy 100 mil if not a bit more.
Just read the answer to my question...2014. Nvm. Darvish would be a fool to wait much longer. I don't get what would be keeping him back. Fear? If he's competitive then wouldn't he want to face the best competition??? I know I would.
Not true, Stefen. Once they reach 10 years of service in the NBP, then there is no posting fee.
