What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
So has Colby earned enough trust that next year if he is sliding a little into the playoffs we won't be saying he doesn't deserve to make the playoff roster?
Ask again this time tomorrow.
I love the results that Colby has gotten, and unlike Wilson, he doesn't seem phased by the pressure. But he's gotten very lucky in the postseason. His postseason BABIP (including last year) is .204. His career BABIP is .296. He's made a lot of mistakes and gotten lucky. My hope is that his luck doesn't run out tomorrow.
He's also an extreme fly ball pitcher, which makes him a bad fit for RBiA. But he's injured and maybe he'll be better next year.
Go Rangers! Here's to hoping the Cards get BABIPed to death tomorrow.
Every season is different. But if he gets healthy over the off season, he's got good enough stuff to be a 3/4 guy in the regular season and deserves to get the ball in the playoffs, particularly road games.
An extreme flyball pitcher playing in a hitter's nightmare tonight, cold, wet, raining, bad hitter's park anyway....
I like our chances and I like Colby. He has been great for us in the postseason.
Well, it all depends on how he pitches AND how the other guys pitch, now doesn't it? We had 5 good starters this season. Someone deserving of a spot in the playoff rotation wasn't going to get one. Turned out to be Ogando, which was a good move because (a) he was running out of gas, and (b) he has experience in the bullpen. But if he WASN'T running out of gas and was still giving you 1st-half Ogando starts, someone else would have to be dropped. And I still say Lewis is behind Harrison and Holland in that pecking order.
Next year, when (not if, but when) we roll into the post-season, ignore the whole playoff history thing and let the 4 guys who have been your 4 best pitchers all season be your 4 starters. If it's pretty much a coin flip, go with Colby and his playoff history.
speaking of the beast that is colby lewis.
I finally found what i have been looking for online.
Colby Lewis in Japan, being a boss.
watch and find out.
you will love it.
That Colbra HR is so rad, btw carps? haha
He has been specially good with extra rest
Nice hit, Cobra.
Lewis just needs to stop giving up home runs. Keep the ball in play, keep up the Ks, and don't walk people. But if he stopped the homers, the ERA will dip under 4.00 again.
