What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Last night was embarrassing. Not sure why. Funny how we/I am affected by a kids game played by rich dudes. But that is the greatness of this game and any game we follow.
So what did we learn last night? Well I learned that we are still a young team. That we will probably be back here next year or at least pretty close. That we will probably be better than this year. That the Mavs lost game 3 and went on to win in 6 against the Heat. That listening to Homer Joe and simpleton McCarver drives me absolutely crazy to the point of that is is the first game including preseason games that I turned off early all year.
The number 1 thing we/I learned last night? That Albert Pujhols is as big an Asshole as Lebron James. That Albert Pujhols is a big a douche as Dwayne Wade. That I absolutely hate the effing Cardinals. Reportedly last night in a parting shot the douche said "That how baseball Go". So I guess when they lose he can't be bothered to comment, but when they win he can take a shot a Wash. Well Wash is my/our Old School Brother and that pissed me off.
If he didn't say that then I still can't stand the guy because of I had to listen to how great he is all night from McCarver and Buck.
I'm not very happy with Pujols right now, but he's nowhere as big an asshole as LeBron or Dwyane (seriously, how retarded was the person that spelled his name on his birth certificate?) Both of those guys are talented players who showed disrespect to the Mavericks who played their hearts out, and even with one important guy injured, persevered. LeBron also showed a lot of disrespect to the audience, fans and opponents alike. Pujols has possibly been a bit moody and, perhaps, took a small jab at us by borrowing Wash's catchphrase, but I wouldn't put him in the same league as the douchebags from the Heat, who blatantly treated the Mavs and their fans like shit. I can't succinctly describe how happy I was that the Mavs won, not only because they're our team, but also because it shut up all the naysayers, LeBron and Dwyane, and the people who said the "Big 3" were unbeatable; and, with plenty of class (as opposed to the scorn from those 2 Heat guys), I don't remember any of them saying "in your face" to them.
If the Cards win, I don't expect Pujols to show the same disrespect to us that the Heat guys did. Not even close. And if we win, I certainly don't expect us to "in your face" them, either.
TL;DR: As far as I can see, Pujols is nowhere near the jackass that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are.
Albert is actually a good dude. But I still don't want him at his price. The previous guys to do what he did were / are not of high moral charcter. But that begs a very good question: What would Babe Ruth be worth today?
Is this in response to Albert hitting 3 home runs in one game? If so, that doesn't make him a douche any more than Cruz's garbage time home run in the final game against Detroit made him a douche.
Or is it just the "that how baseball go" line. If so, get over it. There are 1 million+ things that he could have said/done that would have been worse than quoting our manager's catch phrase.
And he was right. That is how baseball go. Wash probably said the same thing after the game.
