What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
the bad calls in game 1 were pretty consistent. today's zone completely favored detroit
that called third strike is nearly a foot off the plate. how is this acceptable?
Yeah, there were at two K's in the late innings I can remember that were definitely bull crap & went against Texas. But they still won, so it's all good. If they would have lost, it would have been a lot more bitter. His strike zone was way big on the horizontals.
Verlander would have thrown a perfect game against with a zone like that.
Win or lose that is unacceptable.
Murphy has been getting that called against him all season. I don't know if it is because he is so far off the plate or what, but it is ridiculous and it is obvious that its not going to change and he needs to take advantage of any pitches that actually are strikes.
Embarassing strike zone. Hitters will tell you they don't mind a wide zone, as long as it's consistant, and favors neither team. That strike zone shrunk as the game got tighter late. And yes, it did seem as if the Rangers were more of a victim to it than the Tigers.
Roy the graphs say that the Tigers benefited greatly from that strike Zone.Hopefully Derick takes this as a learning experience and does better next time.
Man what a team we are going to have next year. No matter how the rest of the series turns out thats what I just keep thinking to myself.
