What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
We couldn't wait to DFA him and there he is, on another playoff roster. Strikes out his guy out on 3 pitches... Good 'ol Arthur Rhodes
Btw.... I still don't miss him
I am pretty sure you are not in the minority on this one. I don't know a soul who wanted to keep him here.
Rhodes will mess up some time in the playoffs. Just wait and see. Good riddance although Gonzalez is not that great either.
Gonzalez is the LHP we needed. He was a steal. You'll see.
Uehara the one I'm worried about . . . Rhodes? Good riddance.
Rhodes did his job and Cliff Lee didn't. People who got mad at CJ, it just goes to show you. There are no in this game. Baseball is hard. Its hard to play and its hard to figure out.
Rhodes didn't always fail for us. That said, it was obvious he wasn't performing like we needed him to, and he was apparently classy about admitting as much when we let him go. As I recall, a number of us wished him well when he went to St. Louis. Happy for him that he got the job done yesterday.
I was leading the pack on the launch Rhodes to the Sun movement.
However I was so glad to see Rhodes do well last night. Somewhere in the depths of the clubhouse, Joey has a post about Rhodes losing his 8 year old son a few years ago and leaving tickets for his dead son at the all star game. Rhodes had not spoken about this much or at all.
According to Ron Washington on MLB radio, when he called Rhodes in to let him go he said Rhodes tried to make it easy on him. Rhodes the guy getting cut was concerned about how Ron was feeling. Rhodes knew Ron was making the right decision and was man enough to not only accept his fate but to agree with the rightness of it.
Due to a week bullpen, Rhodes was used incorrectly here. It wasn't his fault, it wasn't Wash's fault it just worked out that way.
I wish nothing but success against Rhodes (unless against us) and if something as tragic as ever happened to him happened to one of use that we would be as classy and resolute as he has been. He is now one of my favorite players.
amen Mhilgtx, i didnt know that, thanks for sharing that man..
And btw, i seriously doubt he was throwing the heat. He of the 87 MPH fastball.
I was being slightly sarcastic as heat is relative. I just hope Colby has HIS "heat" all 90mph of it
