What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
I know we are all focused on playoff baseball and the Rays right now, but this is a very interesting turn. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what impact this has for the offseason and who ends up as GM next season (God forbid it is one of JD's proteges like Levine or Preller).http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/story/_/id/7040334/tony-reagins-steps-los-angeles-angels-general-manager
Ryan - As much as I hate to say it, I think that is exactly who they'd focus upon. Truth be told, the Angels are a few pieces away. A C.J. Wilson and a bat or two? Uh-oh! Both Thad and Prellar are very sharp. It would be more than a minor dagger in the back by the evil empire jr. Evil Empire Sr. being the Yankmees, of course. But both those guys are young, talented, and ready. They've earned their chance, and no matter where they go, I will wish them the best.
Someone had to take the fall. The Angels are in tough shape the next few years due to the Wells trade. They might want to bring in someone to clean house as well and get rid of Scioscia. I know we think he is awesome but if you paid attention his insistence on playing Mathis was almost negligent. There are already some good manager prospects out there Tito anyone?
As much as have a love/hate thing for Ozzie, that would suck to see him go to LAA.
It would mean more bunting.
Reagins still works for them. If he was fired, he'd tell the world Scioscia pushed for the Wells trade, not him.
Dang it. I was hoping he'd do something like trade Santana to Houston for Carlos Lee.
