What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
I have been following some of the Rangers competitor fan sites similar to our very own BBTIA. I was going to post quotes from those sites but I know Joey doesn't want to get into "blog wars" as he called it and since I don't wan't to get banned like someone else we all know I will just paraphrase what they said. Then you can see if you know who the manager is they are talking about.
See if you can name that manager:1. He is the worst manager he won't do anything creative with bullpen, playing X player is criminal.2. His strategic approach is deaf to the actual situation in the game and he is the worst manager in baseball.3. He might be the best manager in baseball, has his team in control of the division despite all of the injuries they have suffered.
Manager 1 is the Red Sox manager.Manager 2 is the Angels managerManager 3 is the Rangers manager our very own Ron Warsh that how baseball go guy.
The post for number three was on an Angels forum.I guess this would have more impact with links and stuff but I think I make my point. Every manager has their detractor and the grass is always greener to some.
I've had my frustration and issues with Warsh, but at the end of the day, we do have the right man @ manager. Were he ever to be dismissed? The line for his services would quickly form to the left.
I think you are right. The fact is not every manager is everything to everyone. Wash has strengths and weakness just like every other manager out there.
Ricky how can you praise the guy and use a racial slur in the same statement?
Where did I do that? By calling him Warsh? That is what he is called by a few on here, thus my spelling. I see nothing racist about that. My country arse family says warsh instead of wash.
Geez dude, get some thicker skin or go spend your time on the ACLU web-site or something.
I guess Martin's mommy said was bed time. Here's a clue, spare. Never accuse me of being a racist, as I might just surprise you. Especially don't tag me with that and run and hide. Coward.
Rangers lost, but the Angels lost. Thanks Mariners for the late come back, especially Mike Carp, who was playing @ 1st. 2 RBI in the bottom of the 8th.
Dam dude chill out I had a class you a hole I'm not on the computer all day. I wasn't calling you a rasist, it was a simple question if you didn't know it was a racial slur then fine I don't really give a dam I got more important things to do then argue on the Internet.
Suck it, Yours truly
@Martin: Really? Racist comment? Really? Wow.That's truly amazing.
I used Warsh because he says, my Grand Mother used to say "Warsh some clothes" I guess I thought it was old south but if it is racist I didn't know. I try to save all my racist stuff Joey and Latino's that celebrate too much. (That's also a joke see Salty in the clubhouse)
FWIW, I've heard "warsh" more from whites than any other race (disclosure: I am white).
One more and final thing (from me) about the pronunciation of "Warsh.''The legendary Tom Landry would never say "Washington'' in reference to the Redskins. It was always "Warshington.''I'm reasonably certain Tom Landry wasn't a racist.
Just for kicks:
"Moreover, Peter Golenbock in the Wall Street Journal suggested that Landry also exhibited racist tendencies. His black players, especially Bob Hayes, Duane Thomas, and Thomas Henderson, "felt they never got the same respect or recognition from either the coach or the city as his favorite white players: Bobby Lilly, Lee Roy Jordan, and Roger Staubach," according to Golenbock."
I think his issue was that you spelled out Warsh. You know that his name is spelled Wash. So I think you were being a little tacky but its really not a big deal. I mean, if you say warsh for wash, that's fine because I know a lot of people that do that. They also say windor for window and yeller for yellow. But when you spell, u are making it look bad because you know how to spell it, even it you don't pronounce it right. Just an outsiders opinion on ya'll argument. Go Rangers!
Well, I appreciate the support from those who gave it. And I apologize to whoever I may have offended. He is called Warsh on here by several. It is more of an inside "nickname" if you will. Never any harm meant, and definitely not meant as a racist comment. I speak like an intelligent, educated man, which I am, but I remember my Grandmother and Great Aunts and Great Uncles saying "warsh". I don't think it is any more of a racial thing than when people repeat some of his comments which are grammtically incorrect, such as "That's the way baseball go". I just get extremely agitated when I am accused of being a racist, because nothing could be further from the truth. And furthermore, I was giving him props in my original comment for God's sake!
I speak like a hick, from Denton educated at OU.
I don't care man it was a simple question to understand why you call him that, I've only seen guys call him that negitively. I never called you a racist and was not expecting you to get so emotionally but hurt. You did not offend me in any way.
We're cool, Martin. I should not have blown a gasket like that. It's just as I said, I felt you "implied" that I was being racist, which is not the case. Has there been jokes about him looking like George Jefferson and stuff like that on here before,? Sure. I don't find that racist either. I call Mike Young "Eddie Munster" because that's what Rusty Greer called him in the club-house. There may be a fine line between humor and racism, but I strive to make sure I am on the proper side of the line. Sorry for the misinterpretation all the way around.
I've been around racists and you my friend are not one in any sort. It's all good, were still fort worth homies.
Cool. Look forward to talking some baseball with you.
That's the way talkin' about baseball go.
Not to rehash this old posting, but I'd rather have Steve Busby in the booth with TAG. Barnett called Napoli "Torrealba" the other night. Any show prep there, Dave? I like Buzz, and at least he brings MLB experience to the mic with him. He and TAG have better chemistry.
