What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
It might be a slightly risky maneuver, but it could have a potentially huge upside - a sweep would give them a huge swing in the race. We beat Santana last time we played them and forced Weaver out of a win before giving up a walk-off, but even on shorter rest I can see them bringing out the best.
The question is, is there anything WE can/should do if in fact they do that?
2 Words: Bring it!
They can throw whoever the heck out there they want. As long as Napoli still has this unrelenting rage against his former team... i aint skerred. He can right the ship with one swing of the bat...and will. We got the bulldog on our side.... thats all that matters.
speaking of which.... Napoli would be a great name for my next dog..... hopefully he's still a ranger in a year or two when i can talk my wife into letting me get another one
I think its gonna eventually be Haren, Williams, Santana.
Mike Scioscia did say that having two days off this week (Monday & Thursday) will allow them flexibility pitching wise on how they approach Texas. I'd venture to bet he'll throw out their best. But no worries mates. We are the better team... by far.
Big speculation going on that Angels might have been the team that claimed Carlos Pena...
Would love to have them go with three days rest ... in 110degree heat.
The Carlos Pena rumor is intriguing. Where would he play? Trumbo is one of their best hitters and their outfield and DH spots seem full with Bourjos, Hunter, Wells, and Abreu, so moving Trumbo to the outfield doesn't seem likely (would severly downgrade their outfield D which is pretty dang good right now). Wells sucks, but they didn't pay him all that money to sit. It would be an odd waiver claim if it's true.
It's widely believed it is another NL team who claimed Pena. I don't think the Angels rumor has any legs. Guess we'll find out in less than 48 hours.
Per John Heyman at Si.com it is the Yankees that claimed Pena.
Giants claimed Heath Bell off waivers! Dangit!
Glad it wasn't the angels who claimed Pena at least. The last thing we need them to have is another home run hitting first baseman.
I think I just read Verlander was on waivers. Hmm.
Can't find it, bro. I did see Mike Flanagan died. Damnit! He was a favorite O of mine as a kid.. 59. Way too early.
