What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
...root for the Yankees. It pains me to do this, but right now, the Angels are the bigger enemy. This might be the only time I do this for a long, long time...
I'll take a 3 game sweep in NY followed by a losing series in Toronto, and finally, a 1-3 series loss to the Rangers in Anaheim. All the above would lead to a glorious week of baseball.
Skeletor that would be awesome. I too will root for the Yankees for a few days
The Yankees won't have Sabathia, but the Angels won't have Weaver. Their offenses aren't even comparable. I would be very surprised if the Angels swept them (especially in NY), but it's not unthinkable. On the other hand, if the Yankees sweep the Angels, I will be perfectly happy. But any time we win more of a series than the Angels do I'll take it.
This is a huge week. They've got Yanks/BJs, we face two bums we've got decent chances of sweeping. And them we go face-to-face. It's our best chance probably to pull away in the division.
Some of you guys never learn. You act as if you can tell who will win a game by looking at names written on paper, or stats gathered by saberheads. If you think LAA can't possibly win the series against NYY, then you just aren't paying attention.
We are one hot week from Mark Trumbo from looking up at the Angels in first place. Statistically speaking, the Angels probably shouldn't win more than a game or two this week. We all know that's not going to happen. For some reason, they always seem to have someone step up when the going gets tough.
The Rangers have to just buck up and play winning baseball and make some separation between themselves and the Angels. It's not out of the realm of reason, but expecting the Angels to lay goose eggs for a week is unfeasible.
@WWJDD? If you were talking to me, I thought I was pretty clear about not indicating that I thought the Angels couldn't win the series. I did say I thought it was unlikely they'd sweep it, but that's harder than just taking 2 out of 3. I also gave a couple of reasons as to why I was hopeful that the Yankees would beat them. That's all I did.
I would think most of us would know that we can't expect the Yankees to just run away with the series. By many measures, we're a better team than Detroit, but we've lost every series against them this year, just for one example.
Can't do it. Sorry. No way.
I'm hoping a giant comet just obliterates the stadium while both teams practice. No fans get hurt though. we all win!
Can Tom Hicks be on the field?
I like the way Snrub-I mean, dcaggie06, thinks.
Hicks certainly made many mistakes as an owner (heck, he hired Nolan Ryan after all), but didn't he hire Jon Daniels, Thad Levine, and AJ Preller... you know, the crew that truly built this thing?
You never cease to entertain me, Rangers100.
meh, I like when the Angels lose, but not enough to root for the Yankees. I'd love it if the Rangers and Angels went to the playoffs rather than get two from the AL East.
As long as the Rangers win as many as the Angles from here on out, they'll go to the playoffs.
Hicks is an r100 family friend. thats the only reason he said that. He knows he rightfully deserves a Michael Bay sized comet to the face. You dont dare have the audacity to tell the fans attend the games and i'll sign key players. yes its the chicken vs. the egg situation but look at FL right now. their ownership is trying the same BS (sadly they actually have talent too). Some billionaires never learn.....
And they're 1-1. I hope NY wins tomorrow, because we're off. We have Oakland next and they have Toronto...maybe we'll get lucky and the sign-stealer will help the Jays hit some home runs off 3 good pitchers, haha.
2-0 Angels. Yanks getting owned by Chatwood. At least it wasn't Trumbo with the HR this time around
Grand Slam, Cano! 6-2 Yanks. Come on 2 game lead over the Angels!
Watched the game today and I took two things out of it. First Rangers lead is now 2 and the Angels gave it their best shot. Today has to hurt.Secondly the Yankees pitching especially the BP looks very shaky to as do the Angels.
2 out of 3 ain't bad. But we have a lot of work to do still.
I think I am becomming and Endy Chavez fan!
