Forum > Using Torrealba as the DH against left-handed pitchers

do you guys think that would be a good idea? mitch moreland sucks against lhp and i'd like to see napoli catch more often anyway(i don't think torrealba is very good behind the plate). michael young could be the 1b during those games. what do you guys think?

What's the difference between Torrealba DH'ing against LH'ers with Napoli at C and Young at 1B versus him C'ing with Napoli at 1B and Young at DH like we do now against LH'ers? They're the exact same thing with just the people at different positions lol. Geez....

This is why trading David Murphy (maybe in a package for a RP?) and then getting a bench bat who is a RH version of David Murphy might make some sense. Moreland, Davis, and Murph are all lefties who all struggle against lefties, and Yorvit is a righty with a reverse career split. Blanco is a switch hitter who struggles against lefties while hitting righties pretty well, Chavez is a lefty who hits righties better than lefties, and Gentry is a righty with another reverse split. Napoli was supposed to be the vsL bench bat- except that he's pretty much earned everyday playing time.
