Forum > Josh Hamilton and the Infield Shift

The Blue Jays, Orioles, and Rays have all put the shift on Hamilton this year. (They do it to Moreland as well.) The Rangers have several games remaining against the Jays and Rays, so I imagine it'll happen a lot in the second half. Is there a way to find out Hamilton's stats against the shift or a site that shows his spray chart? Is this actually effective? The Blue Jays mgr. says that they do it when a lefty is pitching because Hamilton tries to get out in front of breaking balls and pull them. Against the two lefies in the series he went 0 for 8 with 4 strikeouts. I'm wondering whether this is going to become standard practice and if Hamilton will have to make adjustiments.
