Ok, so I mentioned the other day that I wouldn't mind getting Rauch to be the 8th inning guy, if he were truly available at the right price... BUT... after seeing him tonight (and admittedly I haven't seen him pitch in over a year) I want to publicly retract that comment. For a guy as intimidating looking at Rauch is, tonight his mechanics appeared to be absolutely shot - he was short arming his fastballs - and topping out at 86 ! He looked old and tired and gassed on his first pitch.
