Forum > It's time to panic! Fire Wash Trade the Farm Hire Hart back and ditch JD
THANK YOU! Your logical approach is appreciated and I couldn't agree more. This same reaction that has been giving me headaches. Those that post on the "official" rangers site have to be the worst offenders of this overreaction.

while were at it, might as well get rid of Hamilton, Cruz cuz of the strikeouts, Elvis cuz of the errors and give up on profar for some over the hill outfielder or middle reliever. Wonder if we might be better off letting Tom Hicks own the team again

I'm sick of Rangers fans in general. So many of them seem to have no ability whatsoever to take a long view of things, but just overreact on a game to game basis. The other thing that gets me is the general feeling of ungratefulness so many Rangers fans have. The team is being built the right way, slowly but surely, with prospects and young, cheap talent. We have been winning now for about 3 years, and we actually went to the WS last year, way ahead of schedule. Yet so many of these fans want to trade this guy, dump that guy, fire the manager, blah blah blah - after every down turn in the season. It's a joke. Hey - here's an idea, people - have fun and enjoy the season a bit! Take some pleasure in the fact that we're in first place!
WWJDD?
Dude shut up, nobody said to do all that

Unfortunately this is the mindset of most fans across all sports - and actually this is the mindset of the American culture in 2011. Most people have a very difficult time seeing past tomorrow. Instant gratification reigns supreme.
This is actually one of the reasons that I like baseball (and golf as well) - the lengthy grind and the long-term mindset that each sport requires in order to be successful.
You just have to learn to ignore the casual fan – they won’t be around the next time the team misses the playoffs anyway…

Keep 'em coming, Caleb. Common sense doesn't reign supreme here, but I know it when I see it. Good stuff as always, bro!

And anyone who wants Jon Hart back is certifyable.

There might have been sarcasm or satire in my title.
Also not everyone is alarmist but those that are I just wish would take a step back and realize what we have here which is a very very good team positioned to win for the foreseeable future if they stay the course.
There is also just a little bit of act like we have been there before because the Rangers have. Those football fans like me remember dominant Cowboy's teams that only lost because they screwed up, this Rangers team reminds me of those teams. The other thing for converted Cowboys fans like me is to remember a football loss is equal to 10 games in baseball so an individual loss or victory is not as impactful over the course of a season.

Sounds like were playin ball the real MONEY ball back EAST with the big boys who play with World Series Implications on a yearly bases... Letting $$$ play ball, or letting the no name kids grow up and play ball like some Early A's 2000's ball. Just looking at the grand outlook of everything maybe?

I DO SUPPORT WASH, the man plays ball..'

John Hart is still with the team. I still think he'd be an awesome GM.

MY GOD this is embarrassing.
All of this knee Jerk reaction to one loss. Yeah the loss sucked, yeah it was avoidable but so what it is one loss.
After the Tuesday night game I looked at some Angels site and they were screaming to fire Scioscia and trade this and that and all the knee jerk reactions that I am seeing here. At least they have the excuse of having been on a loosing streak.
A bottom of the rotation guy pitches like a bottom of the rotation guy and a starter turned RP pitches like crap and the manager holds his bullets for today's quick turnaround game having faith in players that had been producing over the last three weeks and we all act surprised?
All I can say is tap the breaks this is still a good team in a not so good division. (although the records don't show that) Everyone knew going into this thing it had some warts and some beauty. Last night was just a bad night.
