Forum > David Murphy and Pirates?

many people are split on weather they want to trade quality prospects for a solid bull pen option i have been seeing the pirates name come up alot in trade rumors for a outfielder and we have david murphy who had a great season last year with current pirate manager Clint hurdle as hitting coach. The pirates are deep in pitching and need offence the rangers light on bullpen pitching and deep in offence so maybe the rangers trade david murphy and joe wieland for daniel mccutchen?

Philly, Daniel Mccutchen is the pitcher, not andrew mccutchen.

What you're saying there doesn't really make sense... You said that the Rangers have a weak bullpen but a strong offense while the Pirates have good pitching and a weak offense. So why would the Rangers trade Murphy and Weiland, further depleting our pitching for Andrew, a bat that we don't really need while taking away the Pirates' best bat? Kind of a no-win situation if you ask me.

He is talking about Daniel McCutcheon, not Andrew. And I believe Daniel is McKinney, Tx's own! I don't see PIT looking to trade him right now, he's been really good this year and they are contending for the division.

Apparently Pittsburgh needs to draft/sign some players with a last name other than McCutchen - seems to be causing quite a bit of confusion...

Now look it just takes a bit of reading and you will see i am talking about daniel mcutchen not andrew

I know the post is about daniel, but whether we need pitching or not if they were offering andrew,(looking at you Austin) you jump on that instantly. i'd be willing to part with leonys for A.McCutchen and i've been one of the biggest Leonys supporters on this site.

now Daniel McCutchen.... like all pirates pitching besides hanaharan.... i know nothing about....

interesting thought though...the fact that clint hurdle would want david murphy tells me he's the type of guy to keep around... but i'm the OG of the Hurdle supporters here; I started the Thad Bosley was an issue and bring back Clint Campaign. but you cant hate on the guy for taking a head manager job over hitting coach.

It ain't happening, because winning is the best job protection there is, but I wanted Hurdle managing this team years ago. I give a lot of credit to Wash for team chemistry stuff and that's no small thing, but his in-game management decisions often boggle the mind.
