What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Borbon and Davis are not what most folks consider controllable talent. They are untested prospects by most standards and not worth much other than a throw in. If you think you are going to get a Kershaw for Borbon and Davis, you probably shouldn't drink so early in the day. If you are going to give up a Perez/Profar/Martin package you might get him. There is zero reason for the Dodgers to let him go unless they can rape someone. It costs them nothing to keep him.
Cantu? No way, if you're gonna do it, do it big, was told this morning that very thing. I'm thinking Carlos Lee.
A good strong pitcher would make for a good evening. Davis, Borbon, and Scheppers. Who would take that? Is something going to happen? Let us hear from you.
Before you go putting words in my mouth, I never said he could be had for Borbon and Davis. You said people don't trade their type, yet they are offered in several conversations. The Dodgers can keep him for nothing is right. Nothing but a bankrupt farm system and a chance to upgrade it by trading him. And now you prove my original point, that a known young commodity who is controllable, CAN be traded for with our youth, rather than trading the same youth for a rent a-player. Thank you for making my point so elloquently, genius.
Good luck on your vigil to watch Kershaw be traded. It's gonna be a long, long vigil.
And just FYI - the Padres have had a strong interest in Davis. And the Nationals are interested in Borbon as a possibility in a trade for Clippard. It would oviously take more than that, but his name was one of interest to them. But the are "not considered controllable talent, but rather untested prospects". You should be the next Owner of the Dodgers. Your baseball knowledge and thinking fits right in there with him.
I wonder if Zach Phillips will make it thru waivers? I bet he'll be part of a trade. Timing is just too right.
He was a SO pitcher in high school, but not so much since. That said, he is a talented kid with a good GO/AO ratio.
The Rangers almost certainly have to make a trade for a Starting Pitcher now with the lack of depth. Go Big J.D.
next ridiculous trade: Brian McCann and Tommy Hansons, for profar, perez, e beltre, NapoliTyler Clippard for Borbon, cashMat Latos and Chad Qualls for Ramirez, Holland, Davis cash
yeah... quit fighting ladies and digi it!
Hanson, CJ, Latos, Ogando, Lewis
Suck it AL West. F*** you Boston and NY..... Phillies.... we'll catch you at home
With Davis Borbon and Phillips, you might get Kershaw!!! Yeah, that's the ticket.
Haha, Dc, i have to give it to you dude... Although nothing surprises me with J.D.!
go big or go home! 2nd part of the deal is due to mistrial we sign clemens for the 8th inning.
Would you rather see Feldman or O'Day pitch tonight in a triple big game like we're upon??
Perez and Profar are going nowhere. I suspect JD is not so much looking to empty the farm for an Ace as he is looking to acquire a really good #2 for a rich package of the best prospects we have NOT named Profar, Marting Perez, or Leonys Martin.
Just a guess. But I doubt they would have promoted Perez to AAA and risk him having a bad start or 2 if there was any chance whatsoever of him being traded.
Do you think they can get Kemp thrown in if they include Teagarden?
Wouldn't surprise me Joey...I hear they are looking for a below replacement catcher. We are very good trade partners with them for that reason alone.
I'd hope we can get more than Kemp and Kershaw for that treasure chest of players.
Guys I would target that might actually be available:
Sean Marshall - Cubs Can start or relieveJohn Danks - White Sox Bring the guy back where he belongs, could be a long-term solid starterTyler Clippard - Nationals Primo reliever, would be a huge addition to the bullpen
