Dude - I gave you 4 offensive stat categories - 10th was the worst - then 8th, 4th and 1st. That's an average of 6th in both leagues. And his average is going up every week. And he homered again tonight. Give it up for Beltre, dude. He is a top offensive 3B.

And when did I argue that the Rangers are an "elite offense"? That was never the point. I disagreed with your assertion that they have somehow de-emphasized the offense with Beltre and their C tandem. I find both those arguments strange, since the pair of Torrealba / Napoli are most definitely offensively-minded, and Beltre, while he is definitely an elite 3B, has always been a top 5 offensive 3B when he is on his game. If you look at his stats, he is remarkably consistent. And productive. With power.

Offensively right now, Beltre is the only one worth a damn right now. Maybe MY but even he's starting to slump

MY was hitting .370+ going into the Balt Series, for last 10 games. He was at .304 yr
two+ weeks ago. It's Beltre that is getting warmed up, as with MY also. Ham's on a
good pace, but the Solo HR's are killing us. I still cringe when the 8th comes around.

In the mean time its silly to argue over Beltre,. Beltre is not the problem with this team. He has had some inconsistencies just like the rest of the team. Some want a third baseman to hit 375 with 58 hr and an OBP of 897. The Rangers did have to do something in the FA market and I am ok with Beltre and next year or three when we start to work in the new stud pitchers that are in the minors we will be glad to have him.When you judge a player I don't believe you should use his contract as a guideline. I mean a guy making 400k should be held to the same standard as the guy making 17million. That is to a high standard. I try not to let contracts bias my outlook on a player, except Rhodes he gets my wrath because he sucks ass
Now for Yorvit I dont' pretend to know who calls games him, the coaches, the pitchers or what but if the problem is as simple as Yovit calls the games poorly then let the coaches call the games if the pitchers don't want to do it. Then you don't have to worry about trading Yorvit and getting a back up catcher. As to the guy that thinks this is going all defense. Not sure that is correct or they would have Davis for third base instead of signing Beltre, plus the J2 signings show they are trying to develop power in minors..

There is trouble in paradise. The next 2 weeks will reveal a lot about this Rangers team. The A's, Angels and Mariners precede or fokkow the ASB. History has shown the Rangers to be Post ASB swooners. The Angels usually have a clubhouse meeting about then and start streaking. I'm not sure I want to get the Sports Center Hi-lite play at the expense of the mundane (Routine) play. Beltre has not had much time off at 3rd. Andrus is losing concentration. MY is MY, love him or hate him. Wash has had his plate full and maybe just a little too much preoccupied with other duties. This HOT SUMMER is going to take a toll. If some players don't do some soul searching and rebound this season will get worse. Theree are too many odd corner pieces and a makeshift bullpen. That dog don't hunt. The next two weeks might tell the tale or dig a hole and call in Napalm. Would you believe that Molina might be the difference from last years post ASB and this years?
