Forum > Wash's Choice
Ogando is good, but if you only get 1, you pick CJ - he's the better pitcher. Both Ogando and Feliz are in line for addition to the squad when and if guys start bowing out with injury, I would imagine.
WWJDD?
1. Yes. CJ has skins on the wall. He's earned it.
2. See 1.
3. No, thats tjust he way baseball go.

I agree. but if you will... what is your opinion on 3.? could there be a possible motive in keeping him around here to. Cuz wash passed up CC, Cahill, Lester, Pineda, or Haren, all with better records and similar stats or slightly similar. Especially when it comes to CC and Lester.... theres not denying theyve had a better year so far. When youre coaching the all star game coaches choice of course is gonna have a hometown pick. i'm just wondering if by taking CJ over some of these others including Ogando, Wash is trying to show him what he means to THIS team. especially in terms of resigning.

It's like Sophie's choice but infinitely sadder....
So as a coaches choice Wash selected CJ over Ogando. 1st let me say I agree with the choice. But as i've stated before i'm always thinking; possibly over thinking.... So my question to you is:
1. Do you agree with Wash selecting CJ over Ogando?
2. Do you think Wash did not select Ogando to help give him rest?
3. And most importantly, do you think there might be some somewhat "political" reasons for Wash selecting CJ? By this, i mean do you think this was a semi goodwill measure to possibly assist in CJ resigning next season. Put your self in CJs shoe's, I'd think hey my coach here obviously deems me an all-star when he could've selected Ogando who's having just as good or a better season, CC Sabathia... etc. I mean if CJ really does want to be here adding up more brownie points cant hurt right?
Let me know what yall think.
