Just to let you know one of my friends who works for the Reds organization said that the Rangers had sent scouts to Ceutos last two starts and vice versa the Reds scouts he said were looking at profar Neil ramirez and scheppers. He also said that another player was being looked at but he couldn't remember who. He said single a tho.

I don't know specifics because he didn't tell me any. All I know is what I put down. The reason Cincinnati wants to trade him is apparently he got in a few arguments with both the manager and pitching coach.

The thing that grates is that it's a secret that only he is privy to because he knows someone on the inside - it's just a low form of name-dropping. It very well could be that Texas is scouting Cincy - and maybe even Cueto - but that could be 100% on Texas. It means nothing. But I suspect Texas is busy scouting real targets.

If they pull a deal for Cueto in July, I guess we all owe this guy an apology. Let's hope we have to apologize! And like I said - make sure we get Stubbs, too, in the deal.

seriously though, just to understand the gravity of the situation. Cueto is a hoss. He's the exact equivelant of CJ. Prior to this, i was starting to contemplate playoffs if we stand pat, I do belive we have a guy in CJ that can get us two wins when needed ala Lee last year. They'll be harder wins, and of course we'll have to shore up the BP because CJ isnt going to pitch into the 8th and 9th each time. so i was willing to accept maybe with CJ, Colby in playoff form and the rest, we could atleast take the ALDS.

However you add Cueto in the mix, and man... now we have two pitchers that can get you those two wins. especially from transition of ALDS to ALCS if it goes 5 and CJ has to be used. Cueto becomes the man.

My only concearn w Cueto is his weight, and some minor injury concerns, but hell david wells was the freakin man and he was a fat ass, so F*** if. If its working for him then i wont worry. however it is hotter than hell in Texas compared to Cincy....
