I've never seen a 3B field a flyball that far away from the infield.
That over the shoulder catch was remarkable. If he stressed sump'n
during that play, I couldn't tell. He certainly gave all during the catch.
He does shows signs of being human on the diamond, but not that play.
He did say he'd like 3 days rest over a win ballot for the All Star Game.
That being said; if hurt, he'd check his ass to the pine & rest the injury.

I think he is running funny to tell you the truth. Even on the sprint for the over the shoulder catch it seemed like he was running awkwardly like he was favoring one side or the other.
I think you are right, hes got something going on. Sometimes playing hurt doesn't really risk some worse injury, sometimes it does. I'm sure Wash is waiting to get Napoli back to put him on the DL if that is ultimately necessary. It would be cool to see Davis for a couple of weeks at 3rd base and to see what he can do at the plate. I think today also proved that we need to see Teagarden more to see what he can do and to rest Torre.

Furthermore, Beltre needs MUCH more regular rest regardless whether he is playing hurt.

its been confirmed that beltre is playing with a tweaked hamstring. He's going to play through it. further proving beltre was an excellent pitcure, he's a tough SOB, and he's a huge example and leader to the young players on this club. simply put, Beltre is an all star.

It's pretty obvious Beltre's playing hurt, but seeing how we have MY, Blanco and CD as relatively adequate back ups, I have to think it's something they think he can play through while it heals.
I don't know what it is about Wash, but the older you are, the more you play. I'm starting to feel sorry for Rhodes and Olliver when I see them come out of the bullpen. I always think of Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon saying "I'm too old for this #*$&."
Prince Michael virtually NEVER sits. Even if we have to play guys out of their position, with Mitch in right and Nelly in left, or God forbid, David Murphy anywhere, and pay the consequences with muffed plays or gappers Murphy can't run down, so be it... Prince Michael must get his glove time.

thats hilarious... AR literally has that written all over his face everytime he marches out to the mound. lol.
granted Danny Glover would probably blow less games.....

I noticed on Friday's game when Betre ran home, MY was right on his heels and Beltre appeared to be limping. The same was the case last night when he hit the game-winning single. And then Washington came out to talk to him, but left him in the game when it wasn't completely necessary.
Does anyone get the impression that Beltre may be playing hurt? If so, why then would Wash let him, when that has never seemed to be his style of managing. I suppose it is not impacting his performance noticeably, however is it worth the risk of a longterm injury? The commentator on FOX mentioned his history of leg related injuries, and I was also reminding of his injury during Spring Training of this season. What are you're thoughts?
