I imagine St. Louis will do everything they can to lock up Pujols. They'd be stupid not to...
WWJDD?
Anddddd then you woke up.

Paying for Pujols would be one of the stupidest moves in the history of this franchise.

Nothing is wrong with this team. There are very solid options in the minors and a stud in center learning to play baseball in the states. Keep murphy. Keep the pitching depth. I wouldn't sign pujols though. For some reason he isn't hitting and I don't want that brought to arlington. Go Rangers!! The future is still looking bright.
Remember last years al champs didn't really start running away from the al west until about this point. Lot of baseball left to play.

Sign Pujols, yes if you can at a reasonable price.
Deal top pitching prospects, absolutely no. Developing your Giants-like rotation with pieces from Feliz, Ogando, Martin Perez, Ramirez, Erlin, Holland, Ross, Weiland, David Perez, Mendez, Loux, Grimm, Buckel, Jackson and letting the 4-5 of those who become top-end starters dominate for years is the way to build a 10-year winner.

A 1/3 of season has passed, & a few things we have learned about the 40 Man roster. CJ will be a free agent & he is a solid #2 pitcher, but not an ace on a World Series team. There will be closers galore to sign as FA after the season. If CJ wants Ace money offer S.Arb, but let him walk. Move Feliz to a starter as a #3-#4 to begin with. Package minor league pitching along with a D. Murphy for a Ace-Near Ace pitcher, Then move Mitch Moreland to the outfield & sign Pujols to play 1st. Both the Yankees & Red Sox will not be players in the process. You could offer 7-10 years with an out clause after 5, knowing he could move to DH in later years. Yes, the Cubs could chase him, but he could be with a winner in Texas plus hitting in Arlington he could put up huge offensive #'s. Then the next year (13) bring up the one top pitching prospect not traded as a #5 in the starting rotation.
