Forum > Martin Perez

Occasionally I decide to check-up on some of the stats of our top prospects. Our top prospect, Martin Perez, certainly stood-out to me. Check out some of the numbers he's posting in Double-A Frisco:

46.2 IP, 2.31 ERA, 2.96 FIP, 9.26 K/9, 4.44 BB/9, 0.19 HR/9, .308 BABIP, and 80.5% LOB

He certainly seems to have adjusted to Double-A hitters in 2011. He seems to possibly be on-track for a 2012 September call-up if all goes well. Given that he is only 20 years-old, Perez still has alot of projectibility but at the same time, there's alot of room for error. Only time can tell.

He should stay in AA this whole year and AAA all of next year and then bring him up the year after that when he is ready. So many pitchers get screwed up being called up to early, and for what? Its not like hes guna pitch like the ACE he CAN be when he first gets called up.
