After being robbed of the satisfaction of watching the Rangers finish off Oakland last night I felt empty and incomplete. Which brought me to the SOX vs Angels broadcast on WGN. I noticed two things, one the Angels blew a save in true Rangers bullpen style of late and the SOX announcers were AWFUL. Dead pan voices and "Lets go Boys!" ruled the broadcast with fake homer enthusiasm. Just wondering if any one else caught the game. Because I now feel pretty good about the Rangers chances this weekend with the Sienfield line up and the improved outfield with Gentry in Right and JB in Center.

Go watch some videos of the White Sox hitting home runs and if the guy you mentioned is the same guy you hear saying "Stretch! You can put it on the booooooarrdddd! YES!" then it's Hawk Harrelson. And yeah, he's annoying as hell.

Rhadigan is a downgrade from Lewin, but he's not the total abomination some posters think.

He's really not even in the bottom ten PBP guys in the bigs. And when you add TAG to the equation, it's really a solidly average broadcast booth we have here.

I agree, PT. I'll admit, I was busting his balls for the first 10 games or so, but he's really gotten better and will continue to do so.

PT ... Perhaps Rhads isn't the worst ... but that doesn't matter who is worse than Rhads since we are stuck with listening to him.

If your SS was the #26 ranked ML SS ... would you want to upgrade ... or keep him just be happy that 5 guys are worse?

Rhads has been in broadcasting in the studio his entire career rather than live reporting. Do you think that was a mistake made by all those real broadcast companies before TEX hired him to a "TORP" role?

Nobody gets to start at the top in your first gig ... and there is no assurance he'll be better next year. And if that is the case ... then let him go down to Round Rock or Frisco and do PBP there before reporting to the Big Sombrero.

There are probably PBP guys in MLB who are worse than Rhadigan ... but if your SS was #25 of 30 ML SS ... would you live with #25 when there is a better PBP guy already under contract? (Dave Barnett)

Rhads can't hold Hawks jockystrap. He's not even in the same galaxy as Hawk. The guy knows more about baseball than most announcers i've watched. Paired with Steve Stone, there are few tandems that can match them with regards to knowledge and enthusiasm.
