Let's hope he was being extra cautious.

Webb @ 84 on the fastball isn't going to be a #2. Well, maybe the other kind of #2.

My statement, as over-the-top hopeful as it may have been, was saying if he can get back to the high 80s low 90s he could be quite good for us. Because, the fact that he had sink and control that was great sign to me but yes if he doesnt get any more MPH he will be poop.

He has never thrown in the low 90's. It always been 87-90. He needs to teach his sinker to Colby &T. Hunter. If the same weather continues all summer at the Ball Park I'm afraid all Fly ball pitchers are in Big Trouble this season.

Webb had a clean 2 innings in extended spring, only took 16 pitches. Fastball was only at 84 but he had good command and good sink which is what matters most for him. Also, didnt have a problem getting loose.
Hunter threw to live batters, 40-45 pitches, said he felt good and is now headed to pitch 3 innings in AZ. He said he thinks it will be one outting then he will head to RR or Frisco.
Feldman is gonna throw 3 innings in AZ on Thursday, for what it is worth.
If Webb can get some more MPH and goes along without a hiccup, I am still really hopeful that he can give us something. I believe if he comes back strong, around a #2, we look for a bullpen piece. Much cheaper and you would now have at worst two #2s and a #3, and then out of Harrison, Ogando and Holland you just need one play-off starter.
Also, for the whole story on Webb, Hunter and Feldman.
