OK, maybe I listen and read too closely when it comes to baseball. But why do people insist on referring to Julio Borbon as "Pedro Borbon" - I know Bobby V did it at least once on the last ESPN broadcast. Read down in Heyman's SI column today and (voila!) we have another reference to Pedro Borbon.

I know, it's not on purpose. These cats probably remember Mel Allen on This Week in Baseball making the call about PAY-DRO BOR-BON. I admit, it sticks in your head. But c'mon, they're not even related.

Yeah, that bothers the crap out of me. Another one that I hear quite a bit is David Murphy being called Daniel Murphy.

who cares what his name is. He is sucking so bad I WANT Murphy in CF all the time and Borbon on the bench. If hes only playing because of his great D and potential then i dont see why CD isnt playing everyday as well.

You don't see why CD isn't playing everyday?? Probably because in 4 at bats the other night he saw 24 pitches and swung at 18 of them, resulting in 3 ugly K's and a weak popup. I wish CD the best, but he just isn't going to get it done in a Ranger uni.
