Forum > What did Rhodes do, insult Ron's mom?

Oliver seems to be an almost every day player for Washington. Why doesn't Rhodes get at least 1 of Oliver's 3 appearances this week?
Ideally the most recent one ;)

Rhodes pitched today and neither pitched yesterday.

Do you even watch the games?

I don't watch the games, so feel free to ignore me.

You might want to tell the people updating the bullpen pitch count at http://www.bbtia.com/bullpen/ that Rhodes pitched.

I was just going by that count. Maybe Rhodes has pitched in the previous week.

Rhodes hadn't pitched until yesterday, I thought they were saving him for yesterdays game in case Bush couldn't make it out of the 1st inning. Maybe his arthritis is worse than they are letting on. He should have pitched Lowe's inning, too. I understand it's early & the FO & Wash are seeing who can pitch the 6-7-8 innings. O'Day hasn't shown anything, Oliver has lost a lead & lost a game in the 2 weeks. Lowe needs to go on the DL or go RR. If he went on the DL he could work out in Arlington, & go on rehab w/Frisco. The two kids are doing as well as anybody. So maybe Wash hasn't pitched Rhodes because he knows what he has & wants to keep him fresh for the summer & the remaining 150 games.

Go watch last year's postsesason. It's obvious what the coaching staff thinsk of O'Day when things really matter. The guy isn't anything more than a ROOGY (right-handed one out guy). And so far in 2011 it seems like he's lost something. I'm legitimately concerned about the 7/8th inning role he's fulfilling now. If he can't be trusted to get through a high leverage inning against righties, what is he worth?

He was an amazing waiver claim for two years, but if he doesn't show something soon... we may have witnessed the end of his usefulness. If he doesn't get back to his 2009-2010 form, how long can his roster spot get in the way of players like Tanner Scheppers?
