Greenberg was handling the stadium probs, so the decision
may revert back to him. Anyone know the whole story?

I really believe that Nolan thought Lewin was too "goofy" and not quite serious enough...ridiculous though to take Lewin, who knew baseball so well and replace him with a guy who regularly mixes up left-center and right-center fields and doesnt know some basic baseball rules and ideas, like you dont get the rbi on a double play...also, I still cant stand the northern accent he shows occasionally: yest-ah-day is the most common occurrence and you will hear it today if you listen for it.

My theory is that they figured they could get Nadel to move to TV.

I think they would have asked Nadel in advance if that was what they were planning...he never has given any indication he wants to move to TV. I think Ryan from Waco is on the right track....Lewin just didn't mesh with what the team's upper management wanted. Although I'm a huge fan of Lewin, its their perrogative to make a change if they wish....but why Rhadigan, a guy with zero play by play experience was chosen, is beyond me.

Fox Sports SW ratings would increase by 5% if Josh were still here.
As much as I'll acknowledge that the broadcast team would be better off at this precise moment with Lewin in here over Rhadigan, I'm not sure why that would translate into thousands of extra households watching. People who want to watch and have the means to watch are going to watch, period -- even if that means muting the TV and turning up Nadel.

My initial guess was that Nolan got the bad image for throwing Lewin out, but behind the scenes, TAG wanted Lewin gone even more. They never clicked in the box and TAG was always bad at showing it.

I remember hating Josh Lewin when he first got the gig. But I warmed up to him a little after the first couple of seasons, and by half-way through the season last year I really liked the way he called games. His quirky little off-topic commentary became entertaining and his goofy jokes actually became funny. Now I am back to square one with Rhadigan. Can't stand him. He and TAG don't click. He makes amateur mistakes and embarasses himself even more trying to correct them. God I miss Lewin's signature, "ball-game!" Maybe he'll surprise me and develop into a decent broadcaster in the future (as did Lewin), but I won't hold my breath.

It's funny how an 11 game lead in July can make one like the announcer a lot more...

I'm sure comments have gotten back to Rhads... Rhadigan, probably feels as a nervous cat with long tail, stuck in the middle of a busy Midway @ Fair Park.

Mmmm....deep fried cattails....

There is nothing wrong with Rhadigan that having Josh back wouldn't cure. Why the heck Nolan, who is otherwise making all the right moves, would let Josh Lewin go is beyond me. Fox Sports SW ratings would increase by 5% if Josh were still here. Can this be reconsidered????
