Forum > Mark Lowe is horrible

This guy needs to the minors and his inability to close or pitch well period makes it more likely we'll see Feliz in the bullpen. Strop has been lights out all spring. If he can put it together on the big league level, I think he'd make a great closer when Feliz transitions to the rotation.

Man, his velocity is there and it looks like his pitches are moving a little, but good god everything he throws ends up right down the fattest part of the plate.

This guy was supposed to be good.

Anyone can and will look like dogshit over 20-30 PAs over the course of a year....no need for overpanic...

Yup, the guy sucks right now, but he's got three options left. He just needs to spend some time in Round Rock getting it back together.

Hence saying he needs to start the season in AAA

He's a career 4.4 xFIP in the bullpen.

Very, very meh.

Isn't O'Day looking just as bad? And are Lowe and O'Day's track records any different? If we think Lowe sucks doesn't O'Day suck just as bad. I felt that our right handed short relievers were going to be a huge strength this offseason (Feliz, Francisco, O'Day, Lowe, Ogando). Now this looks like a glaring weakness. Feliz should be in the rotation, Francisco is gone, O'Day and Lowe have both given up at least 2 hits per inning this spring and have ERAs north of 10. Ogando is the only one left standing! I know it's just the spring, but man can't these guys quit making me so nervous!

And are Lowe and O'Day's track records any different?

O'Day: 164 IP, 7.13 K/9, 2.41 BB/9, 0.55 HR/9, 2.63 ERA, 3.00 WPA
Lowe: 178.1 IP, 8.02 K/9, 4.09 BB/9, 0.86 HR/9, 4.09 ERA, -2.10 WPA

I feel sufficiently set straight Joey. Thanks. Nevertheless, I sure wish our right-handed relievers' ERAs were at least in the single digits for the spring!
